I'm renewing my quarterly permit.  Why must I send the same information to you again?

The HPPD requires that new/current information be sent when reapplying for parking permits.  Previously submitted documents are not maintained by the HPPD.  New documents must be submitted each time a permit is renewed.  Please refer to the APPLICATION CHECKLIST.  The HPPD will not process any incomplete application.  If you do not have the required documentation, do not apply until you do .  If you have just moved into the Unincorporated Town of Greenburgh and haven't received any utility/phone bills, you must have a dated letter of confirmation stating that you have requested service at your new address. (address must be stated)

I don't live in the Unincorporated Town of Greenburgh area but a family member does.  Can I have them get a parking permit for me?

No. Permit use is restricted to residents of the Unincorporated Town of Greenburgh.  The HPPD has established application criteria to prevent issuing permits to those residing outside of the Town. Aside from the documents applicants are required to submit, a diligent effort is made to continue to verify that any permit issued is used by the applicant and that the applicant continues to  reside within the unincorporated Town.  Permits are not transferable.

I already have a permit but I purchased/obtained a new car and want to use my permit on this car.  What do I need to do?

You must send us a copy of the new vehicle registration. Once received, you may move your permit to that vehicle. You can have up to 3 vehicles registered to your permit, however, only ONE vehicle may be parked at any time.  As always, the vehicle must  be registered to the applicant or spouse.

You can fax your new registrations to 914 723-6126.

I received a parking ticket when I was parked in the Hartsdale village area.  I feel that I didn't deserve the violation.  What can I do?

The HPPD does not collect parking fines.  Please refer to the back of the parking violation and respond accordingly.  Please be aware that if you park at a broken meter you risk receiving a parking violation.  You can report a BROKEN METER here.   The HPPD personnel routinely check meters and make any necessary repairs.

I no longer need my parking permit.  Can I get a refund?

I'm confused!  I know that I live in the Town of Greenburgh but I'm not sure if I live in the unincorporated Town of Greenburgh.  How do I determine if I do?

It is confusing!  Generally speaking, you most likely live in the Unincorporated area of the Town of Greenburgh if you do not pay taxes to Ardsley Village, City of White Plains, Scarsdale Village, Dobbs Ferry Village, or the Village of Tarrytown.

You can check an address at the Town of Greenburgh Website. Enter the address you're inquiring about. If the address is not within the unincorporated area, no property information will be available.

I have applied for a parking permit but my application was denied.  What can I do about this?

When you received your returned application, you also received a description of the reason for its' return.  You have submitted your application with either missing, unacceptable, or outdated materials.  If you can not comply with the requested information please do not reapply.  You may reapply when you can provide all required documents.  The Board of Commissioners of the HPPD reserves the right to deny and/or revoke permit parking privileges to any individual.
